In a move unusual for a major label, French fashion house Carven has appointed not one, but two new artistic directors to its womenswear division. Alexis Martial of Iceberg and accessories designer Adrien Caillaudaud will join the label effectively immediately, bringing diverse experience from their specialty worlds. Martial and Caillaudaud have crossed paths before, first while attending the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school in Paris, and again while at Givenchy while working on knitwear and accessories, respectively. The artistic director position at Carven has been vacant since November, when Guillaume Henry left to head up Nina Ricci. Despite this, Carven is due to present a collection at Paris Fashion Week later this week.
