Founded in 2002 by Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright, the New York fashion label rag & bone has continued to grow from strength to strength and is now sold in more than 700 stores worldwide as well as in 12 of their own retail spaces. The brand revealed its campaign for Fall/Winter 2015 yesterday in New York City, a continuation of the brand’s tendency to buck the trend of stereotypical product promotion. The collection itself is an amalgamation of fashion’s best motifs right now: slouching pinstriped separates and micro-polka dots harp on the Japanese canon, a range of slim linen trousers are adorned with tuxedo stripes, taped seams, and the use of technical materials refer to modern sportswear. A triumphant take on contemporary garb, rag & bone ties all of these features together under a dark, complicated color palette – representing something of a departure for the brand. In addition to the lookbook imagery here, a short film was produced featuring the likes of Mikhail Baryshnikov, model Yuri Pleskun and Lil Buck.
