With the release of their debut album approaching, alternative indie band Joywave have shared the music video for their single “Somebody New.” Opening with what looks to be your average skate ride round Los Angeles, the Rochester, New York band are quickly rooted to an alternate universe where they are transformed into video game esque characters and positioned into some rather compromising tricks. On the video the band commented “We wanted to look like we were great at some physical activity, so CGI was the only option. For the first time, we had the means to create an alternate universe in which we were actually good at something.”

Watch the unique visuals above and be on the lookout for the release of their debut album How Do You Feel Now?, out April 21.
