In a quest for more speed, Formula One cars could be equipped with up to 1,000 horsepower by 2017, after drivers gave their backing to the plans ahead of key meetings for the sport scheduled this week. Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo told Autosport that “We (F1 drivers) are all up for going faster and having more power. It creates adrenaline at the end of the day and that is why we do it,” suggesting that there could be little in the way of F1 becoming faster in the coming seasons. Red Bull boss Christian Horner confirmed, also to Autosport that it is a distinct possibility as the teams “have head room at the moment that we can make the cars go quicker, and we need to use that.”
