Herman Miller x 3sixteen Custom Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman
Only three sets were produced, making the collaboration extraordinarily unique.

NYC-based clothier 3sixteen has collaborated with iconic American furniture manufacturer Herman Miller on a custom Eames lounge chair and ottoman that hones the ideals and values of both labels. The custom set features natural vegetable-tanned leather upholstery that is treated to darken over time and is also used on the patches of 3sixteen’s jeans. Framed within a hand-oiled palisander wood veneer shell, the resulting product is a timeless piece that seamlessly integrates form and function. Inspired by the “well-used first baseman’s mitt,” the perennial aesthetic of aging leather is utilized here to yield a lushly dark brown hue over time. Only three sets were manufactured, making the edition extraordinarily unique to 3sixteen, who will document the progression of these chairs as they age over time. The custom chair and ottoman will debut at the Pop Up Flea in NYC (December 11-13), a three-day holiday market paying homage to American design and craftsmanship.
