G-Star RAW 2016 "Straight Cut" Eyewear Collection
Featuring Samuel Ross, Monique Lawrence and Skinny Macho.
G-Star RAW has unveiled its latest eyewear range inspired by original aviator goggle designs. Dubbed the “Straight Cut” collection, the name reflects the unconventional use of straight-cut lenses that embodies the brand’s hallmark culture of challenging the norm. Personified by the non-conformist ‘firestarter’ personality, G-Star RAW perfectly represents the spirit of the collection through a series profiling a dynamic selection of talented faces – all trailblazing non-conformists within their respective creative communities – including multidisciplinary creative director Samuel Ross, singer-songwriter Monique Lawrence, and Boiler Room’s mercurial lead programmer Skinny Macho.
Highlights in the collection include the Fat Wilton, Fat Dexter and Braze Garber. Adopting the whimsical round shape that harks back to the brand’s very first eyewear collection of 2014, the Fat Wilton frames feature a flush metal insert of the G-Star 1 logo and is encased in fat acetate. The Fat Dexter is constructed in a geometric square shape, flattering for all face shapes, while the Braze Garber references vintage aesthetics inspired by the label’s industrial influences. Detailing includes a metal support on the bridge that actively contrasts the colors between the interior and frontal edges of the silhouette. All three models feature the collection’s distinct straight-cut lenses and are available in various colorways. The G-Star RAW 2016 “Straight Cut” eyewear collection is now available online at g-star.com.
