The Frigid Beauty of Finland Is Captured in This 4K Time Lapse Film
Finland’s primordial sub-Arctic landscapes wow on another level.
Next to neighbors Norway and Sweden, Finland doesn’t normally garner much of the world’s attention, although this time lapse video by Finnish student filmmaker Riku Karjalainen proves the world wrong. Shot over three months and 8,500 km on the road, Karjalainen bore witness to vast arboreal forests stretching as far as the eye can see, crystalline, snow-clad mountains and fjords, and millennia-old permafrost landscapes. Take a journey through this sublime landscape in the stunning work of cinematography above.
