adidas Transforms the Nizza Into the Skate-Ready Matchcourt Mid
A 1975 basketball high-top becomes a skateable mid.
Giving old school silhouettes a skate-ready update is all the rage and now 1975’s Nizza is joining the likes of the Blazer and Challenge Court as adidas introduces the Matchcourt Mid. Inspired by Mark Gonzales’ skating of the Nizza back in the ’80s (including on his first-ever Thrasher cover), the contemporary reimagining pairs a classic profile with a vulcanized sole and rubber toecap while a canvas upper provides breathability. Finishing touches include leather Three Stripes branding and a removable PU insole for cushioning.
