XOYO Loves - A Week-Long Event Series Featuring Virgil Abloh, Baauer, JME & More
You don’t want to miss London this week.
If you are familiar with London, more than likely you’ve heard of the highly popular XOYO location. Established as one of the prime venues for music fans along with those DJs and producers behind the scenes, XOYO has teamed up with HYPETRAK in order to put on a week full of events called XOYO Loves. Spanning the full seven days, the lineup possesses an impressive list of names such as Virgil Abloh, Baauer, JME, Busy P, DJ Koze and much more. The event’s director and head booker, Andy Peyton, was able to discuss some of the event’s inspiration as well.
What does XOYO Loves… imply?
XOYO Loves initially started because we wanted to do some interesting events outside of the boundary of the club itself. We did a hotel rooftop party with Skream, a massive disco event at The Coronet, and a hip hop party with Danny Brown and Mark Ronson.
Eventually, it has become a way to spend a whole week at the club showing some diverse events off that we currently find exciting / interesting.
Was it difficult to organize such a lineup?
It took a lot of planning and time, we have been working on it since March, but we are really happy how it ended up.
What was the conceptual approach in aligning these artists?
The starting point was looking at acts we found exciting. DJ Koze and JME were probably the first two things we went for, and from there we started to be like “right there’s no disco, we need to get some disco in,” and so on. Many hours of discussion and debate in our office got us to where we ended up!
