'Midnight Special' Official Trailer Starring Michael Shannon and Kirsten Dunst
A new sci-fi thriller from the director of ‘Mud’ and ‘Take Shelter.’
Jeff Nichols, writer and director of indie films Mud and Take Shelter, has taken on his first studio production with Midnight Special, which he describes as a “sci-fi chase film.” The plot revolves around a young boy named Alton, played by St. Vincent star Jaeden Lieberher, who possesses supernatural powers. His father (Michael Shannon) is keen on protecting him from a religious sect and government task force and decides to take him on the run. The film also features an all-star cast including Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, Joel Edgerton and Sam Shepard, and is slated for a theatrical release on March 18, 2016.
