Details Is Shutting Down
Another magazine bites the dust.

It has been reported that Condé Nast will be shutting down Details magazine, according to Condé Nast President Bob Sauerberg. Amid restructuring and print advertising declines at the publication, Details‘ December issue will be its last. It is expected that GQ will increase the frequency of its twice-a-year GQ Style publication to retain fashion designers who currently advertise in Details.
Mr. Sauerberg estimates that 20 percent of the 60 staffers at Details will find work inside of Condé Nast, although in an internal memo both the Editor in Chief Dan Peres and publisher and chief revenue officer Drew Schutte are leaving the company. This news may not come as a surprise, as traditional print publishers are consistently dealing with huge drops in revenue as advertisers are shifting dollars to digital advertising.
