The robot apocalypse will come on two wheels. That’s the proposition from Yamaha with the unveiling of its Motobot motorcycle-riding robot, which the company claims was designed to test out rider safety and support systems. Despite its apparently benevolent purpose and the fact that it still needs training wheels to get around, the launch video does little to assure us of its lack of malevolent intentions, with the soulless, tinny robotic voice narration repeatedly proclaiming that it was “created to surpass you.” Watch the video above for some well-warranted chills.
