There’s no one vehicle that quite sums up the bucolic glow of post-war America quite as much as the Dodge Power Wagon. Initially beginning its life as a military workhorse on the battlefield, the truck — then known as the WC – won over the many soldiers who drove it at war and wanted to bring it back home, and thus the civilian Power Wagon was born. While the common trope of the Power Wagon nowadays is of its shell sitting rust-eaten in a forgotten field, Wyoming-based restorers Legacy Classic Trucks have taken it upon themselves to revive the iconic truck. Coming in three different cockpit configurations, there is a choice between a supercharged, 430 hp, 6.2-liter Chevrolet V8; a 3.9-liter Cummins four-cylinder turbodiesel with 500 pound-feet of torque for pulling power; or a 7.0-liter, 430 hp stroked Chrysler 426 Hemi V8. The interior sees fittings from Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, alongside Cadillac seats of Italian leather. Starting from a price of $185,000 USD, owing a piece of history doesn’t come cheap.
