Hedi Slimane has unveiled Saint Laurent‘s 2015 fall/winter collection during Paris Fashion Week. Cohesively, the collection does not stray far from what fans and critics of Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent have come to expect from the celebrated fashion house during Slimane’s recent tenure as creative director. Most looks flaunt a rich, monochrome black color palette expressed through a range of materials, including leather, cotton, mesh, fur and sequins. Rooted on the essence of the classic rockstar, a variety of slim-cut fits were matched with staple accessories, such as black sunshades and Parisian beret hats, effectively capturing a strong, vintage European aesthetic. Unlike today’s oversized outwear trend, fitted coats were layered over solid black or simple patterned tops, and finished with a pair of skintight black pants or leather trousers. Topcoats and shirts sporting animal print were once again included in the collection, alongside a bright pink topcoat that stood on its own. Known for his affinity towards rock musicians, it should not come as a surprise to spot Swim Deep‘s Cavan McCarthy modeling Saint Laurent’s latest.
