PREMIERE: Drake - 6 God (Thugli Remix)

On top of original releases, Pat Drastik & Tom Wrecks, collectively known as Thugli, have been notorious for flipping excellent remixes. This time, they add their signature flair to Drake‘s “6 God.” Keeping the same riff melody by Boi-1da, the track starts off double-time but resumes to a roaring half-time tempo as soon as Drake’s verse kicks in. Further down the track, the duo utilizes a soaring guitar solo over some heavy 808 bass slaps — which although is something of a rarity in both club and electronic music, works fittingly well. “We had been wanting to flip this track for a minute. If you’re familiar with previous remixes we’ve done, we like to take joints that don’t bang hard enough in the club or in festival settings and breathe new life into them. ‘6 God’ just needed that extra “umph” so we decided to have a go at it.
