After surfacing last week in a tonal sage colorway, New Balance‘s deconstructed take on the 996 — dubbed the “696 Reengineered” — has popped up in a couple of additional make-ups. Like the aforementioned grey silhouette, these 696s boast tonal two-piece suede uppers — with perforations throughout to mimic the mesh placement of the 996 — while cushioning comes in the form NB’s contemporary REVlite sole unit. Capped off with rawhide lacing and a leather tongue branding tab, the MRL696DB and MRL696DA are now available via Premier for $140 USD per pair.
