Jamie Hewlett, co-founder of the iconic animated band Gorillaz has confirmed that the group is set for a comeback. Ironically enough, the good news came by way of Instagram, today’s social platform of choice in showcasing artistic talent. After posting a new sketch of Murdoc, Gorillaz’s bassist (a picture that is solely viewable through the mobile app), Hewlett surprised fans by later commenting, “Yes. Gorillaz Returns.” Hewlett also uploaded two additional sketches of Murdoc and guitarist Noodles, which may be hinting at the release of an art book. Not too long ago, Hewlett shared that he was contemplating producing a special compilation art book of his “favorite stuff,” a project that has yet to see the light of day. Check out the artwork in the gallery provided, and let us know if you believe the Gorillaz will be able to pick up where they left off in the comments section below.
