With news that J.J. Abrams and company have completed filming for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, we’re all on the edge of our seat waiting for the unveiling of its official trailer and release details. To satisfy our nostalgic cravings however, images have surfaced of various artists working on the background settings of the original Star Wars trilogy, including paintings for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Bringing George Lucas’ distant universes to life, the work of artists Ralph Mcquarrie, Chris Evans and Michale Pangrazio can be seen above.
