For Guillaume Henry‘s last Carven collection, he opted for efficiency by including some of the same fabrics and motifs that appeared in his pre-fall women’s collection. For example, the wide wool strips, cassette embroideries and embellished sweaters were familiar, but stayed true to the style that has made Carven such a desirable brand. Boxy, sculpted coats were the standout here, heralding the ’80s and further confirming that the decade is having a moment in menswear. Pronounced silhouettes in muted colorways made up most of the collection, but those looking for simpler pieces would gravitate towards the wool bomber jackets. The accessories are also making a splash, shifting focus on a growing category with well-crafted box clutches, oxfords and sailor-inspired totes.
