While creating this collection, Fred Dyhr – the vice president of men’s design at Belstaff – was inspired by the Ton-Up Boys, an old British biker gang subculture whose members would compete to reach 100 miles per hour on their motorcycles. The biker gang’s aesthetic was recreated in this collection with rich leathers and shearling jackets, sprinkled with knit pieces for the winter cold. What stole the show, however, was the shearling — whether teal and short, white and long, or reserved and mixed in with cotton — which was masterfully implemented into the jackets.
