Inspired by the traditional Chinese art of paper-cutting, adidas Originals presents its pack of kicks to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Celebrating an art form that goes as far back as the Eastern Han Dynasty in the 1st century AD — and one whose red paper animals, flowers, and clouds are said give good fortune and happiness while banishing misfortune over the course of the coming year — 2015’s Three Stripes-branded pack includes the likes of the Superstar and Forum Hi and adorns each silhouette with a stylized goat imagery. Finally, to further link the shoes with the New Year festivities, each pair comes draped in a color palette of luscious red and deep black.
The adidas Originals Chinese New Year Collection for 2015 is set to be available in limited quantities at select retailers beginning this Thursday, January 15.
