Celebrating 110 years of outfitting civilians, soldiers and public servants, New York-based Spiewak presents a special collection of three parkas for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2014 season. First up on the list is the Empire Systems jacket which features a removable and reversible liner, warm power down and an Air Force sleeve pocket. The Aviation Snorkel is similarly built for frigid weather and named for its snorkel-shaped hood. Developed in the ’50s to keep flight crews safe from the cold in unpressurized aircraft, the modern iteration retains the durability of its predecessor with reinforced elbows and sleeves, and features a zipped pocket designed for cellphones and a detachable lined hood with real or faux coyote fur trim. One other noteworthy aspect is that the Aviation Snorkel Parka is sustainably filled with recycled down feather.
Last but not least, the Spiewak Golden Fleece Fight Satin N-3B comes from the brand’s premiere Golden Fleece line and is crafted out of authentic mil spec flight satin with a removable coyote fur trim. It comes filled with 670 power down and is distinguished by its engineered pockets and zip/snap button placket. Look for all three parkas when they drop at select dealers in the near future.
