Everything changes with time and as a 30-year resident of New York City’s East Village, photographer Daniel Root has seen his neighborhood significantly transform over the years. Having documented every corner of the area after moving into an apartment in ‘84, Root originally planned to publish the images in a book. Although the book never materialized, Root now shares the nostalgic snaps and compares them to what the same spots look like today.
