MEGGS "Spoiled Rotten" @ Inner State Gallery
MEGGS’ newest exhibition ‘Spoiled Rotten’ is now open at Inner State Gallery in Detroit, Michigan.

MEGGS‘ newest exhibition ‘Spoiled Rotten’ is now open at Inner State Gallery in Detroit, Michigan. Comprising of 40 new paintings and sculptures, ‘Spoiled Rotten’ examines the decay of social morality as a result of pop culture, excessive materialism and overindulgence. Prominent themes include growth and rebirth, represented by the incorporation of deteriorating signage and locally-sourced materials to represent the once prosperous past of the city of Detroit, as opposed to the current state of decline. However, it also exhibits the new signs of urban revival that the metropolis is experiencing. Followers of MEGGS will recognize his signature technique of combining bold, illustrative painting with free-flowing, textural elements. Make sure to stop by the gallery if you find yourself in Detroit.
