There’s little doubt that Chet Faker‘s been experiencing a great summer this year. A few months ago, he paid a visit at Australian radio via Triple J’s segment called Like a Version, where artists play an original and cover a song of their choice over minimal acoustic instruments. Faker chose Sonia Donada’s ’90s jam “Lover.” Max from the WKND (not the Toronto one), felt inspired enough to reinterpret this cover and give it an up-tempo facelift and bless it with heavy bass lines and guitar riffs. The outcome is satisfying. Listen above.
