Last weekend, Alexander Wang presented his upcoming 2015 spring/summer womenswear collection. Your eyes were not deceiving you if you caught on to the physical similarities between the collection’s pieces, and iconic sneakers created by the likes of Nike, adidas and New Balance. Alexander Wang has turned to none other than footwear’s heavyweights for inspiration in producing his latest collection. Pieces such as the sleeved elephant print top, green collared stark white button-down shirt and interweaving, multicolored heels pays homage to the Air Jordan 3 Cement, adidas Stan Smith and Nike Air Woven respectively. In some aspect, whether subtle or obvious, Wang’s latest effort remains heavily rooted in footwear.
