PREMIERE: IshDARR - The Better Life (Video Album)

It doesn’t happen every day that promising new talent comes up on your radar that has something fresh to offer. Meet IshDARR from Milwaukee, WI. Instead of taking the regular route and drop a regular music video, the 17-year old rap artist decided to impact the scene with a medley of all songs featured on his The Better Life EP and put it into one concise visual shot and directed by Nick Bilardello of Crooked Engine and Marcus McFly. Who are you?

I am IshDARR. A 17-year old teenager from Milwaukee, WI.

How do you describe your style?

I define my style as different, fun, experimental at times, and lastly free. I make music that makes me feel good. Im not afraid to try a new genre if I am challenged to. It makes the art of music ten times better. My comfort zone will always be hip-hop, but maybe one day I’ll do a dub-step song. (Laughs)

What can you tell us about Better Life, how does the video correlate with it?

The video is a compilation of each song from the EP, showing what The Better Life to me is. It shows my life as I live it each day.

What does a better life (in general) mean to you?

There is no real meaning to a “Better Life.” For me it’s self-defined and what was captured in this video. It’s simply happiness, family, friends, and making every minute count in life. But I’d be lying if i said money wasn’t in my perspective of The Better Life ha.

What is the music scene in Milwaukee like? Any other names that we should be on the lookout for?

The music scene in Milwaukee is continuously growing. We have artists such as Vonny Del Fresco, and an older brother of mine Boodah Darr ( who will be dropping early next year). We most definitely have every sound in the city, and it feels good to see each artist all working towards the same goal.

When is your next project dropping?

I have a full-length mixtape dropping this fall
