It might be hard to believe, but British contemporary label maharishi is fast approaching its 20th anniversary. Moving into the Fall/Winter 2014 season, the brand commemorates this, in part, with the release of a new collection. The “Skeuomimicry R.I.P.” collection finds the brand reiterating its central military motifs, reworking vintage pieces from Polish, Czech, Serbian and U.S. armed forces into contemporary wearables. For this, the brand power washes each piece in saffron water and incense to effectively ‘baptize’ away wartime associations. maharishi also reprises its relationship with Schoeller textiles to create advanced water-repellent jackets. Connecting all of this is the ”Pixel Bonsai Forest” pattern, an interpretation of camouflage that infuses designs from Tibetan rugs and tiger stripes. Enjoy this look at maharishi’s forthcoming collection, arriving on the brand’s web store in the coming days.
