In conjunction with up-and-coming underground label Main Course, they collective has released new EP from Aussie producer Swick which has received huge support from A-Trak, RL Grime, Madeon and Nina Las Vegas. The EP spans multiple genres, from more tropical sounds to the bass banger “Full Court” that A-Trak has been playing in his sets lately. We also had a chance to speak with Swick to get a little more familiar with the buzzing producer. Check out the EP, which is available as a free download for one month, and Q&A below.
How do you define your sound?
I guess I would define my sound as a mix of all genres.. i love heaps of music and weird sounds so i try to include it all and create my own unique style. lately i have been inspired by football stadiums, fizzy drinks, techno, carnivals, rap, computer hackers, warehouses , panini stickers & all sorts of things.
What can you tell us about your new USBCLUBTRAXX EP?
USB Club Trax consists basically of four club tracks too add to your usb stick to play out. I think all the tracks sound pretty different to other stuff out at the moment and different to each other which i am really proud of i also did all the artwork and video stuff for the first time too..
You have quite some prominent fans, ranging from A-Trak, RL Grime, and Madeon. Can we expect any collabos soon?
(Laughs) I don’t know, maybe. I’m currently doing some other collabs though with some cool friends.. it will all be out soon!
How do you evaluate the Australian music scene? It seems to be on the rise lately.
Yeah, there are a lot of cool Aussies, like my friend Lewis Cancut, who’s been killing it for a while now and later this year, he will join the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo. Tkay Maidza from Adelaide is cool too. I’ve done a bunch of stuff with her that will come out soon hopefully and Lucid from Melbourne is really sick too!
