Straight off of 2013’s New, Paul McCartney has unveiled the visuals for the single “Early Days.” Directed by Vincent Haycock, “Early Days” sets itself up in the deep south of the United States in the 1950s. Sharing the initial stages of the visual McCartney shared:
“It’s a memory song for me, about me and John in the early days, but Vince came up with this great idea. Instead of having young lookalikes of me and John walking the streets of Liverpool, guitars slung over our backs, and literally acting out the song, what if it was any two aspiring musicians? I thought that was such a cool idea. ”
To bring the story to fruition, Haycock cast local actors to loosely interpret the early years of the Beatles formation. In addition, you may also notice a cameo from actor Johnny Depp during a jam session with the Liverpool legend. On the cameo:
“I happened to ring Johnny Depp, I said, ‘Come along and we’ll sit around and jam with these blues guys.’ He said, ‘Yeah, OK, count me in, man.’ I knew it was an offer he couldn’t refuse.”
