With last night’s International Champions Cup matchup against Inter Milan in Washington, D.C.–a result of two points for the Red Devils after they prevailed in penalty kicks–Nike unveiled Manchester United‘s third kit for the 2014/15 campaign. Joining the white away kit and customary home red, the unique third kit harkens back to United’s long tradition of blue kits from the 1980s and also pays homage to 1968’s European Cup championship–the very first for an English side. Like the home and away kits, the third uniform is marked by a polo-style shirt–this time in a half-and-half appearance that sees a royal blue front coupled with a navy back. The two tones are then divided by a red stripe that stretches from the shoulders down along each side of the shirt, across the shorts, and all the way down to the socks.
Look for Louis van Gaal’s side to don the new kit sporadically throughout the upcoming campaign while the two-toned blue number will be available to fans beginning September 25.
