Essentials: Chippa Wilson

Hailing from the beachside town of Cabarita, Australia, Christopher Wilson aka “Chippa” has continued to wow the surfing world with his progressive surfing and travel-inspired style. As someone who appreciates older things and the simplicity that frequently compliments them, his Essentials revolve around functionality and are understandably geared towards the surfing lifestyle and culture he loves. From cruising beaches in Bali to ripping around on his tracker style motorcycle, some of his tools of the trade include his socket set, his surf fin from Captain Fin Co., and a “Gringo” helmet from Biltwell.

Keeping things relatively simple in terms of tech, his two 35mm film cameras help to document his adventures when he’s on dry land while a GoPro 3 captures his greatest moments at sea. On the style side, he keeps things similarly scaled back with a New Era beanie, a pair of Arnette “Slickster” sunglasses, and a set of watches from Nixon being his go-to pieces. All of this and the rest of his gear tucks snugly into a camo tent from Poler and a backpack from Nixon, which also includes a convenient pouch for holding his oft-used passport. For more on Chippa visit his blog here.
