Looking past his iconic soup cans and celebrity portraits, sunglasses seem nearly as emblematic an accessory for the late, great Andy Warhol. Honoring this quaint subtlety of the artist’s character, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts teamed up with Italian eyewear specialists RETROSUPERFUTURE to create a limited capsule of sunglasses. The collection is comprised of four silhouettes, each adorned with a collage of Warhol photo reproductions, reminiscent of archival silver gelatin photos from the artist’s archive. Details such as silver hardware, engraved wings and ultra dark Zeiss lenses complete this collection of premier shades, available at RETROSUPERFUTURE’s online shop.
