Common is going all in with his new single “Kingdom” featuring Vince Staples. The Chicago native has recruited none other than Hype Williams to direct its official video. As the trailer indicated earlier, the visual becomes an amazing mini-movie narrated by both lyricists, highlighting the problems of Chicago’s inner-city youth. Don’t expect a Happy End here. “Kingdom” serves as the lead single off Common’s upcoming Nobody Smiling LP, which is due July 22 via Def Jam/No I.D.’s Artium Records.
