BANKS - Drowning

LA singer-songwriter BANKS certainly appears to already be on her way to becoming one of the “next big things” in the pop/R&B landscape. Her song “Drowning” is one of the reasons why, and for the visual component has paired up with i-D to release the Mike Piscitelli-directed video. In her new clip, BANKS appears solo in the middle of a two-toned hall of mirrors, sultrily slinking around as she sings. The visuals are at a more minimally-based level with the vignette for “Drowning,” but with a song this good you don’t need the “shock and awe” of a pop mini-movie.
