Our last outing with Chinese-American maverick Phillip Lim found the designer toying with slick leather chaps and quilted tops á la the Wild West in Fall/Winter 2014. This time around, his eponymous 3.1 Phillip Lim label returns to necessarily urbane aesthetics with an almost geometric precision for Spring 2015. The silhouettes have a lounge feel about them, with oversized sweaters, vest-tops, elongated robe-shirts and trousers playing the columns of the collection. Tying the pieces together is a deconstructed plaid motif, sometimes iterated in simple pinstripes and other times blocked with opposing color schemes – all of which create a symmetrical effect. Enjoy this look through 3.1 Phillip Lim’s forthcoming collection.
