Once again choosing to make a statement when dealing with his runway presentations, Rick Owens recently displayed his 2015 spring collection in Paris to jarring effect. The features of discussion are assuredly the powdery-faced models, that aided in the general sense of disarray that the show evokes, with matted hair, oversized cuts with fringed hems, and basic wrapped fits. Semblances of traditional menswear poke their way in, but are largely masked by the almost-primitive inspirations that Owens has looked to with this latest collection. Graphic imagery and color-blocking are also included by the Paris-based designer, to break up the somber color palette.
