Delivering on yesterday’s promise, director Zack Snyder took to Twitter today to offer up the first look at Ben Affleck as Batman for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel – the tentatively-titled Batman vs. Superman. Brooding next to the redesigned Batmobile – teased yesterday – Affleck’s caped crusader appears to take aesthetic cues from Frank Miller‘s iconic graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns as the Batsuit sports a bloated bat insignia to go along with the cowl’s relatively short ears. Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel – starring Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, respectively – is currently on tap for a May 6, 2016 release.
