Burgeoning Oregon-born director Lije Sarki introduces a neat coming-of-age tale in the form of a short film, casting some of L.A.’s it-crowd for “BELONG.” The short tells the story of a young skater who, when bullied on a lone journey, continues to aimlessly pursue his passion – resulting in the discovery of his true niche. Even though skateboarding is now arguably the choice activity for this current young generation, it still retains a certain appeal amongst misfits, a sentiment tapped by Odd Future some years ago that still resonates. Accordingly, Sarki tapped soundscape specialist Left Brain to score the clip, while the likes of Lui Elliot, Jacob Messex, and Cash Mathieu all star as skaters. Enjoy the film above.
