Nas has been having an incredible run recently with events surrounding the twentieth anniversary of his magnum opus Illmatic. A twentieth-anniversary edition of the album was released, a feature-length documentary centered on the album premiered at Tribeca, and the 40-year-old Queens luminary has been engaged in an expansive media marathon. To seal all that success, now sales of Nas’ debut album have increased by a massive 844%, jumping from 1,588 last week to 14,987 this week. Spotify streams are up 300%, and the rapper is also currently at work crafting his next LP alongside the likes of Timbaland and No I.D. From the sound of it, his last album Life Is Good was appropriately titled.
