The Timbaland-driven R&B and pop landscapes of nineties terrestrial radio still have an impact on music to this day, and up-and-coming polymaths Kelela and Tink are prime examples of that. For the latest installment of their Songs from Scratch series, Adidas Originals and Yours Truly recruited the young songstresses and TDE-affiliated producer DJ Dahi for a track entitled “Want It.” Kelela and Tink are at their most soulful peaks on “Want It,” and Dahi provides perfectly smooth and sultry sonic terrain for the two sound-stylists to work with.
