Rumors regarding a collaborative project between The Game and Ed Sheeran have been floating for a while now, but now The Game has confirmed that he’s teamed up with the English singer/songwriter on a new album. Set to release as a double-disc project, the rapper not only makes a statement of his creative respect for Sheeran, but also speaks highly on their creative flow as musical partners.
Ed came up with the idea to start working on a joint album, and we started doing it … That was like in five hours. We was just going. He was on that guitar. Acoustically, he’s a genius, man, so when he does that, what comes out of me is songs like ‘Dreams’ and ‘Hate It or Love It’ and ‘My Life.’ The songs that we got, they’re real songs. And I can’t wait for people to hear ‘em.
The two first connected back in December of 2012 when Sheeran tweeted about Game’s Jesus Piece album, and have since conjured enough material for two CDs.
It’s gonna be two different sides … So it’ll be two CDs. It’ll be the way I would do an album, with his help, and the way he would do an album with my features.
