Here we put our own lenses on the standout new collection from UNDERCOVER x Nike GYAKUSOU for Spring/Summer 2014. Dubbed “Yin & Yang,” the editorial makes visual reference to notions of balance – emotional, physical and spiritual – as expressed by designer Jun Takahashi in regards to running. Accordingly, technical windbreakers evenly fade from steel grey to blue, or are divided with clever nods to Chinese philosophic symbols. Elsewhere, a snakeskin-printed silhouette nicely brings together anorak and short-sleeved pieces, extended at the bottom as if to pick up where the sleeves end. A pair of the well-executed Lunar Speed AXL brings the whole collection together.
