Described as “transcendental cult music,” the approach Savemoney emcees Joey Purp and Kami de Chukwu are taking with their Leather Corduroys collaboration is rooted more in pop culture than it is in hip-hop. For their forthcoming self-titled project, the duo will be serving up tracks in a variety of styles we wouldn’t quite expect from these two artists. While it won’t be included on the project, we get a taste of that unexpected direction today with “Dat Strong,” which sees them pairing aggressive auto-tuned lyrics with menacing production from iLLeeT.
