While working to oppose the longtime wasteful habits in the footwear industry, FEIT is now set to venture into ‘sports’ shoes for Spring/Summer 2014 – kind of. The Australian brand will unveil the Bio Trainer for the new season, modeled after traditional running shoes yet maintaining FEIT’s environmental conscience. The sneaker is completely handmade and sewn, with a single piece of vegetable-dyed suede (or leather) wrapping around the upper. At the interior, high-quality buffalo leather lines the footbed to provide padding and sweat absorption. These features rest atop a 100% natural latex rubber sole, which is immersed in cold water for 24 hours to allow for minimum weight and optimal flex. While probably not the most viable option for running, the Bio Trainer certainly makes strides in the right direction.
