Essentials: Alejandro Rodriguez

As the first flagship store for his Beautiful Fül clothing nears its one-year anniversary, designer Alejandro Rodriguez presents us with his Essentials. Having grown up in Los Angeles with a tight-knit family that encouraged his creativity and individuality, Rodriguez was already sketching men’s collared shirts by the time he was 12. Even now, he still works exclusively with the same Staedtler pencils and erasers he used back then and prefers to work with a physical drawing pad instead. Other tools he keeps at the ready include Sharpies and his tape measure for quick checks when he handles calls from his pattern maker. On the style side, Rodriguez’s personal accessories include his 1950s vintage safety glasses and a selection of rings from his extensive collection that includes Native American and Mexican designs, as well as a few custom-made ones.
