Beyond the Racks: Agenda Las Vegas 2014 Recap

A month after having to brace the harsh New York winter, Agenda made its third and final showing of the season in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. Whereas New York’s frigid temperatures and heavy snowfall kept attendees indoors, the clear blue skies and moderately warm weather of Sin City brought a new life to the traveling trade show. One in which Agenda extended outside of the Sands Expo convention center and into the various gatherings held around the city. From a Diplo after-party to All Gone’s book signing event at Undefeated, like-minded creatives came together from around the world to not only unwind with one another, but also help in building a unique camaraderie within streetwear.

Nevertheless, Agenda did put on an impressive show during the three days it was opened to buyers, sellers and press. Although there weren’t as many art exhibitions as Long Beach, the aisles of #AgendaLV still included expert barbers, shoe-shiners, food trucks, ping-pong tables and even a miniature golf course hosted by G Pen. While brands like Vans, Mitchell & Ness, Staple, Flexfit, and yours truly among many more presented massively creative installations to help showcase their forthcoming product releases, it was the long list of hip-hop superstars that came through for day two that stole the show. As Travi$ Scott stood atop Reebok’s Retro Shop reciting lyrics from “Upper Echelon,” Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, French Montana, Kid Ink, DJ Paul and DJ Drama looked on below bigging-up their sneaker brand of choice. At the same time, Bow Wow and Stevie Williams unleashed their Asphalt Yacht Club skate team onto the crowded isles, whilst Big Sean, T.I., Cam’ron and Jim Jones promoted their respective brands.

It was truly an experience like no other, where most of the memories, yet blurry, spilled outside the rows of booths and into the various after-hour events.
