Long-revered in its place on the very top shelf of bars worldwide, the Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask from 2013 has recently been named the best whisky in the world. Taking home top honors from booze pundit Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible, the aged whiskey draws its pungent flavor from a combination of Japan’s humid summers and dryly cold winters; extra pure water, and masterful balance of malt. Beverage behemoth Suntory only produced 18,000 bottles to distribute worldwide, so tasting the award-winning blend for yourself may – at this point – be a daunting task. Enjoy the video above as CNN explores the rich history of the Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013.
