SSENSE 2014 Fall/Winter "Japanese Menswear in Motion" Video Lookbook
Feted as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in their homestead of Canada, SSENSE garners
Feted as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in their homestead of Canada, SSENSE garners around 2 million visitors every month. Headquartered in Montreal, the “international online retailer” offers a directional selection of over 150 brands and has won a reputation for being at the forefront of attainable style and technology through their wide range of products. In their latest editorial, entitled “Japanese Menswear in Motion” we see a handsomely clad young man getting active in everything from fine tailored suits, long wool overcoats and an absolute “no no” on your average squash court; black dress shoes. All formalities aside, SSENSE has utilised a single model and a fixed camera position to further simplify the idea whilst duplicating the subject’s presence across the court to become more obvious as the clip progresses. With an almost glitchy feel to the production, positions flutter rapidly and transition in quick succession to give us a brief look at each and every inspiring outfit. With tailored looks from prominent figures within Japanese fashion, we see the likes of Visvim, Yohji Yamamoto, Kolor, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus and Junya Watanabe facing off in this all star compilation.
