Kim Kardashian Beats Justin Bieber as the Most Followed Instagram User

If you noticed you’re missing some followers on Instagram, don’t worry you’re not going crazy. The Facebook-owned social network went on a rigorous purge of spam accounts in order to “clean house,” deleting millions of false accounts. As a result, Kim Kardashian is now the most followed Instagram user, taking the title from her social media rival Justin Bieber, whose followers dropped from 23.8 million to 20.3 million. The top three most followed users now go to Kim in first, Beyonce in second with 21.4 million and, finally, the Biebs. The purge also indicated which artists have purchased their followers, like rapper Ma$e, who saw 1.5 million of his 1.6 million followers obliterated, and, as a result, deleted his account. The most affected by the purge seems to be Instagram, however, as the sites social account dropped by 18.9 million users.
